EduSports conferred the ‘Best Start-up in Sports’ award by FICCI at the India Sports Awards


– India’s leading school sports enterprise was felicitated as the ‘Best Start-up in Sports’ by FICCI at the ‘India Sports Awards’ held at a glittering ceremony in New Delhi. Chosen from among twenty five nominations across the country, EduSports was acknowledged for its contribution on making sports / Physical Education an integral part of holistic education and for creating a significant impact on children at the grassroot level. Mr Saumil Majmudar, Co-founder and CEO, EduSports received the award from Mr. Tripurari Sharan, Director General of Doordarshan, Mr. Sunil Uke, Chief Commissioner, Customs, Delhi & Mr. Rajpal Singh, Director, FICCI.


The awardees were chosen after a rigorous selection based on the marks given to different startups who had participated in the study on Best Start-ups Conducted by FICCI during Oct 2013. The winners were selected by a seven member jury comprising veterans of sports.


Commenting on winning the coveted award, Mr. Saumil Majmudar, Co-founder and CEO, EduSports said, “I am humbled to see EduSports receive such a prestigious recognition. Since its inception, EduSports as an organization has been committed to the cause of making sports an integral part of mainstream curriculum.  The award motivates us to do better and achieve greater impact in the domain of holistic curriculum.”



India Sports Awards is an attempt by FICCI to acknowledge the contribution of sports in India and to felicitate the sports achievers, and organizations that support sports.  FICCI has been organizing India Sports Awards since the last 5 years to highlight the relevance of sport in our society and to create a platform that will build role models for young Indians.


On this occasion Mr. Rajpal Singh, Director, FICCI congratulated EduSports and said, “EduSports through their profitable and socially beneficial business are helping in achieving national goals of healthier and fitter society besides promoting sports culture in the country through schools, which are the most important stakeholders in leading sports revolution in the country at the grassroots.”

Mohit Bansal(23) is B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, India.
