: Helping you to make buying decisions

E-commerce market is a jungle where new startups are mushrooming every day. Not even new startups big players like Amazon, Flipkart, Snapdeal are finding it tough to fight with each other. Recently, to encounter Amazon in India Flipkart and Myntra got collaborated.

In such kind of scenario it is very difficult to make decision on which product should you buy?

Every one is offering a huge range of products but which one to choose? Shouldn’t there be an angel who can help you in this struggle?

Founded by Naman Sarawagi who is an Engineering Grad and served at Freecharge and Zipdial as First Product Manager, FindYogi  understood the need and came up with their unique platform. Techaloo got a chance to have a conversation with Naman. Let see what does he want to share with us…

Techaloo : How the entrepreneurship journey started? Or who inspired you to start business?
Naman : I had been working for startups ever since college. Taking the plunge to do my own startup looked like a natural step.

Techaloo : What was the vision mission of the FindYogi? What exactly you wanted to do when you started your business?
Naman : We wanted to help people make better buying decision. Most people delay a purchase because they are not sure of which product to buy or at times not confident of the decision they have made. By enabling better decisions we are reducing buyer’s remorse, thereby making happy consumers.

Techaloo : What kind of difficulties you had faced while starting/doing business?
Naman : Hiring is probably the biggest challenge that we have faced. Getting people have the right attitude and the capability to learn is tough. This till date remains our biggest pain.

Techaloo : Share some info about your products and services here.
Naman : FindYogi is a buying decision platform for consumers. The web app currently serves 4 categories viz. Mobiles, Tablets, Laptops and cameras. The app quantifies features of each product to make it easier to for people to comprehend the technical spec sheet. It also has comparison to decide between shortlisted products. Even if the user can decide then they can get advice from an expert in the field.

Techaloo : Do you see review sites, price comparison sites and others as your competitors? How are you different from them?
Naman : There are many price comparison sites that are doing a decent job at helping you decide “where to buy”. Whereas, FindYogi helps a consumer decide “what to buy” and then show you prices and service level of various online stores. No one is currently trying to solve the where to buy problem.

Techaloo : What are the new features, you are going to include?
Naman : For now we will be concentrating on understanding the user’s need better and show automated suggestion of products. We want to ultimately make the decision making process faster and smoother through automation and human assistance.

Techaloo : Can you share any interesting insight with our readers regarding their own buying behavior?
Naman : We always talk about making rational decisions but at the time of purchase we are influenced by a lot of intangible features of product or brand that ultimately decides where we spend our money. The irrational decision that we as consumer make is a lot to do the intangible value that a certain product delivers – it could be trust, brand perception or even the behavior of staff at service centers. Most of this cannot be captured by machine algorithms but through opinions of existing users of the products. This is something we learnt overtime about consumers and are trying to address through our consultancy platform –

Techaloo : Have you got any kind of funding?
Naman : We have raised about $100K in seed funding from the Mr. Raju Vanapala, the founder of Way2SMS.

Techaloo : What is your user base?
Naman : We currently get about a million visitors on site every month. We have been growing at 30-35% for the past few months.

Techaloo : What will be your advice/suggestion for new entrepreneurs for starting new business?
Naman : Startup in a field you are passionate about and do only one thing. Focus can take you a long way.

Techaloo : What are your future plans? Or now what is your vision for next five years?
Naman : We want to be the desitnation for shopping decision making. We are working on consumer electronics category for now but ultimately want to move to every decision making that involves spending money – ie. Financial products, travel or even real estate. The way to do each of them will be different but lead to a common goal of reducing buyer’s remorse.

Techaloo : Few words about
Naman : Techaloo is a good attempt to cover the Indian startups and web trends. The only thing they should look at improving is the frequency of posts. It has to be more predictable.
