“Pay using your waiting time with Sageby”

Sageby, pronouned as ‘Sage-be’ “provides the platform to reach people over the physical and social space almost anywhere and anytime, in the form of data collection. We provide the linkage to make cab rides, shopping, and dining free for our users by helping them monetize idle time.”

Founded by the students at the Singapore Management University, seed funded by SPRING Singapore, it’s  a team of three –  Brian Chia, Lee Pei Zei, and Geroge Chen – and seeks to drive innovation in our society, bringing solutions which intentionally address existing pain points. Specifically, it has developed a system that allows consumers to trim their shopping bills or dining bills by redeeming credits earned for filling in market surveys on their phone as they queue to pay.

According to the team of Sage-by, intelligent data collection is its most enabling factor, with which it not only benefits individual consumers but also generates business and interest for the companies affiliated to Sage-by.

Thus, it can be considered as win-win-win model and has won several awards and accolades like – SMU Innovation Award, Young Entrepreneur Award, and features in TechCrunch, Nikkei Business Publications, TechInAsia, IT media, etc.

It is a very interesting example where technology enabled innovation and fueled entrepreneurship.
