Idea for a start up – NEED IS THE MOTHER OF BUSINESS

Eureka!!! Eureka!!!

We all talk about the IDEA for a startup.
We say that I want to start an enterprise but I don’t have an idea.

The idea for a business is something that can’t be taught even through an encyclopedia. Just come out of your shell and see the world, ideas are spread every where . You just have to think in a different way.

During science classes at intermediate, we all read “Necessity is the mother of invention”….yeah its true , nothing wrong about it. The same thing also goes with a startup, we can say “Problem is the mother of business….”
Take any startup or enterprise, you will have some problem as the inspiration behind that…
For example take Google, Facebook, Four Square, Linkedin, Instagram, Flip-kart …these are big giants with crores of clicks and you may easily understand the need that they are fulfilling.

Now let us talk in the Indian perspective. For example, in the early phase of , we published an article on The inception of this website was from the problem faced by the founder during his college fest.
There is a term in entrepreneurship field called “Social Entrepreneurship”.
When we see a problem, we may have one of the 2 possible ways of approach to think…
1.Hey so pitty!!! but its not my work….
2.Hey, what can be done to overcome this problem??

The second approach is so called “Entrepreneurial approach”…You might have heard about Bindeshwar Pathak , the founder of “Shulabh International”.What entrepreneurship training had he taken??? Was he a student of any B-School?? NO… the idea evolved from his way of thinking.

One more entrepreneur is Mr. Dhruv Lakra, the founder of Mirakle Courier (see the article on is different and important in Mirakle Courier??? You wont believe, the delivery and all the office work is maintained by deaf people…yeah that’s true…..

We all see that there is a problem of electricity in the villages and we also know that solar energy can be a solution to this problem….but how many of the so-called entrepreneurs have realized that idea into a reality?? It was Mr. Harish Hande, the founder of SELCO, who did it. SELCO is growing and has a handsome revenue generation too.

Now , Next Time when you see a problem …whether social or technical…try to think in an entrepreneur’s way….
