In this technology- driven world, with less of social interaction among people, a website to influence the interpersonal relationship among the people and to cater to the social and technical needs of people is necessary. Udaipur Blog was started with a purpose to promote the beautiful city of lakes –Udaipur online and update everyone on this growing medium of internet where people are keen to know what is happening digitally.
Udaipurblog.com was started around 2.5 years ago, by Sanjit Chohan(a 10th class student then) with a vision to promote his city Udaipur. Presently, Sanjit is pursuing his Btech in computer science from Techno India NJR, Udaipur. Sanjit was a graphic freelancer and minted some pocket earnings. It was during this period that his brother suggested him to do something for his city too. Sanjit felt this as a great idea and planned to start this website with the name Udaipurblog.com .It was his time of 10th boards exams and so he couldn’t devote much of his time on the website. The actual journey started in the holidays after his 12th exams when he actively worked on Udaipurblog.com and various other ventures (including his graphic website-GfxLovers.com, facebook applications and various other applications).
Even though Udaipur blog was started in November 2009 but its actual activities were noted in mid 2011.The website was started with an initial investment of Rs.5000.It was started with no commercial interest and still the main soul of the website is just not money. It was and is dedicated for the city of lakes and all the interested things happening in the city of lakes. The website had a page on facebook (Fb.com/Udaipurblog) which provided a good way to engage with the people of Udaipur. Gradually through this social media engagement and website, many people started to link in, various student volunteers joined in and the team grew. Today there are many student volunteers participating as a family in this web startup. They work together and deliver to everyone the latest news, events, travel tips, reviews, issues, etc. They also handle the work of people who come in their contact and are interested to take up their services.
The company got registered in the end of October with the name “Lake city ventures” which focussed on promoting the above work and on local ventures:Udaipurblog.com,Pix.Udaipur.com and others .The website is mainly marketed through social media(Facebook, Twitter etc).
